The Rodeo Court just won the 2010 Portland Rose Festival Parade, Rodeo or Fair Queen & Court Award (perfect score) and the Vern Hulit Award for Excellence in Preparation, Organization, and Presentation!!!
The Columbia County Fair & Rodeo Court invites you to attend the Columbia County Fair and Rodeo held the third full week in July each year in St. Helens, Oregon. The rodeo court pageant is held the Friday of fair week, with official reigns beginning the following January 1.

Queen Leilani Scmidt
Leilani Schmidt is the daughter of Teresa and Don Collins of Rainier. She is a Senior at Rainier High School where she is an active member of the National Honor Society and Rainier FFA where she serves as the 2009-10 President. She currently participates in OHSET and is a Junior Leader in her 4-H group the Rising Stars. She plans to attend CSI and major in Ag-Business Management. She has been very successful in Public Speaking, having placed top three in several county, district, and state level competitions. Leilani enjoys training young horses and showing in her spare time. Her rodeo partners are Twister a seven year old Quarter horse gelding and Sue a twelve year old Quarter horse mare.

Princess Stephanie Esterly
Stephanie Esterly is the daughter of Kevin and Margie Esterly of Scappoose, where she is a sophomore and honor student at Scappoose High School. Stephanie is involved in 4-H and enjoys working with her 2-yr-old paint gelding, Dakota and 5-yr-old gelding, Rocket. Stephanie was on the 2006 Columbia County Flag Team and reigned as the 2007 Junior Miss Rodeo Oregon and 2009 Miss Teen Rodeo Oregon. Stephanie is a frequent trail rider and loves team penning. I n her spare time she enjoys clam digging, skiing, seeing new places, and spending time with her grandparents. It has been a dream of Stephanie’s since she was very young to be a part of the Columbia County Court and is honored to be given the opportunity to represent her hometown rodeo as a 2010 princess.

Princess Emily Simpson
Emily Simpson is the daughter of Jeff and Julie Simpson of St. Helens. Emily is currently a Junior at St. Helens High School where she has been involved in FBLA, Link Crew and College Club. Along with her interest in horses, she also enjoys running. Emily has been a Varsity runner for St. Helens for 3 years Track & Field and Cross Country. She is the Cross Country Girls Team Captain for this upcoming year. She has been involved in 4-H for 4 years and a 4-H Ambassador for the last 2 years. In the future she plans to attend college to pursue a career in nursing. Her rodeo partners are Buckwheat an 11 year old paint gelding and Missy a 9 year old paint mare. Emily is looking forward to representing Columbia County this year.
