The ultimate family event is on Thursday of fair week. Kids get the opportunity to see what it is like to be a real Cowboy/Cowgirl at the Jr. Rodeo. From Mutton Bustin’ to barrel racing and Steer Riding we have events for kids ages 6 to 18. It’s fun for the kids and a knee slappin’ good time for parents & grandparents. The “Just for Fun” Rodeo gets the little ones out into the Rodeo Arena to participate in some rodeo events designed just for them. What can I say?.... The winner of the Columbia County Talent Contest moves on to compete against the winners at all the other county fairs at the Oregon State Fair Talent Contest. The talent contest is judged by local experts in the field of entertainment and draws the county’s most talented individuals of all ages. Animals for Office	Half Price Sunday July 18
Animals participating in 4-H, FFA or Open Class competition at fair have the opportunity to run for office. Owners (campaign managers) can choose to put their animal in the running as the political leader of their barn. The Hogs will be running for “Mayor”, the poultry for “Speaker of the House”, Horses for Sheriff etc… Campaign Managers will be required to develop a campaign with a poster, slogan, press release etc.. Contestants will be judged by local leaders in Columbia County. Each winner will attend Opening Ceremonies and be awarded prizes and ribbons. This is a great sponsorship opportunity!
